I'm Gianpaolo, a filmmaker and photographer.
I was born in Avellino in 1994, I spent my childhood and adolescence in Rome where I graduated from scientific high school and at the age of 19 I decided to move to study Film Engineering at the Polytechnic of Turin.
There I acquired the theoretical-practical knowledge of visual communication applied to cinema and advertising (also thanks to the internship and work at Armando Testa between 2016 and 2017). Turin gave me the inspiration to shoot my first short film "Jute Bags" in 2018, which allowed me to receive nominations for the best dramatic short film and the best short film at the Assurdo Film Festival, the Volterra Fantasy Film Festival and the Film festival for debut filmmakers.
In 2018 I decided to move to Milan where I learned to work in a large company like RAI - Radiotelevisione Italiana. I acquired the mechanisms of events and live television, I participated in the 2019 Giro d'Italia and the 2020 Tokyo Olympics working as a production and augmented reality technician, but my curiosity pushed me to return to cinema, so in 2022 I became a freelance filmmaker and started working for Tree Agency Project Design & Communication as an audiovisual manager.
Now I travel and interact in an international and European context, working side by side with people from different countries on social impact projects.
6 years ago I discovered a passion for analogue photography, to which I dedicate many hours of my free time. I was interviewed by Lomography Italia in 2022 and in the same year I also created a collective photography exhibition in Rome. They also published another work of mine in the magazine Fifteen Vol. 2 by Psicografici Editore.
I am attracted by everything that is coexistence and the discovery of new points of view both from the technical side but above all from the human one.
Sono Gianpaolo, un filmmaker e fotografo.
Sono nato ad Avellino nel 1994, ho trascorso l'infanzia e l'adolescenza a Roma dove mi sono diplomato al liceo scientifico e all'età di 19 anni ho deciso di trasferirmi per studiare Ingegneria del Cinema al Politecnico di Torino.
Lì ho acquisito le conoscenze teorico-pratiche della comunicazione visiva applicata al cinema e alla pubblicità (anche grazie allo stage e al lavoro presso Armando Testa tra il 2016 e il 2017). Torino mi ha dato lo spunto per girare il mio primo cortometraggio "Sacchi di Juta" nel 2018, che mi ha permesso di ricevere le nomination per il miglior corto drammatico e il miglior corto all'Assurdo Film Festival, al Volterra Fantasy Film Festival e al First-time Filmmaker Film Festival.
Nel 2018 ho deciso di trasferirmi a Milano dove ho imparato a lavorare in una grande azienda come la RAI - Radiotelevisione Italiana. Ho acquisito i meccanismi degli eventi e delle dirette televisive, ho partecipato al Giro d'Italia 2019 e alle Olimpiadi di Tokyo 2020 lavorando come tecnico di produzione e della realtà aumentata, ma la mia curiosità mi ha spinto a tornare al cinema, così nel 2022 sono diventato un filmmaker freelance e ha iniziato a lavorare per Tree Agency Project Design & Communication come manager audiovisivo.
Ora viaggio e mi relaziono in un contesto internazionale ed europeo, lavorando fianco a fianco con persone provenienti da diversi paesi su progetti ad impatto sociale.
6 anni fa ho scoperto la passione per la fotografia analogica, alla quale dedico molte ore del mio tempo libero. Sono stato intervistato da lomography italia nel 2022 e nello stesso anno ho anche realizzato una mostra fotografica collettiva a Roma. Hanno pubblicato anche un altro mio lavoro sulla rivista Fifteen Vol. 2 di Psicografici Editore.
Sono attratto da tutto ciò che è coesistenza e scoperta di nuovi punti di vista sia dal lato tecnico ma soprattutto da quello umano.
